A former journalist, a husband and father to two adults, who likes to be seen as a positive figure and community leader who just happens to have a passion for baseball and sports.

Favourite Book:

Best novel I’ve ever read was by Allan Folsom, called The Day After Tomorrow — it was vivid for me. Best book, best read ever for me, was the sports business book Shoe Dog by Nike founder Phil Knight — riveting, amazing stories.

What does LITERACY mean to you?

To me, literacy is such an enhancement of life in general, without the ability to read, to communicate, I wonder how much less there would be in life.

What books do you recommend?

I recommend the books above, but moreso, I recommend finding books that may not match your everyday interests, it’s a way of helping the mind branch out.

Favourite quote:

True to form, it’s baseball, and it’s Rogers Hornsby — “People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.”
