Emma Shelford feels that life is only complete with healthy doses of magic, history, and science. Since these aren’t often found in the same place, she created her own worlds where they happily coexist.
If you catch her in person, she will eagerly discuss Lord of the Rings ad nauseam, why the ancient Sumerians are so cool, and the important role of phytoplankton in the ocean. Emma is the author of urban fantasy series, including Depths of Magic, Nautilus Legends, Magical Morgan, Immortal Merlin, and Forest Fae.

Way too difficult a question! At the moment, I’m loving Annette Marie’s Guild Codex series. I lose myself in the stories and end up doing everything one-handed while I read.
What does LITERACY mean to you?
Living multiple lifetimes, understanding the world through others’ eyes, escaping into other worlds while exploring issues in our own through the lens of a story.
What books do you recommend?
Anything from Annette Marie, Rachel Aaron’s Heartstrikers and DFZ series, for younger readers Diana Wynne Jones and anything Susan Cooper, Deborah Wilde’s Jezebel Files, oh my, I could go on for ages! And that’s not even including the obvious ones.
